The Joys of Motherhood
By: Berna Agsalon
In the Philippines, Japan, and in most countries all over the world, the second Sunday of May marks the day dedicated to mothers – Mother’s Day. As a tribute to all mothers on Mother’s Day, I have gathered the views of some of our instructors about their own joys of motherhood.
“I think the joy of being a mother is the wonder of seeing my kids grow and discover new things and being there to guide them, and experiencing their love that gives me the strength to go through any hardships in life.” – Instructor Mia
“Happiness is seeing your child grows up to be a fine young lad. It gives me a sense of pride especially when people compliment him for his accomplishments because I know that I am an important part that helps him to be what he is now.” -Instructor Eve
“The joy of being a mother is to see myself whenever I look at their faces.” – Instructor Mena
“Being a single mom is the hardest…twice the work, twice the stress, and twice the tears…you may think about quitting and giving up. But seeing my daughter growing to be a good, loving person under my wing is really worth everything.’ – Instructor Reena
“It’s taking care of another beautiful soul with a goal to raise him loving God above all and then cascade his love to others.” – Instructor Yogi
“Seeing my kids in good health, happy, and not suffering from any misfortune, these are what make me truly happy.” – Instructor Daphne
“Being a mother is one of the highest salaried jobs since the payment is pure love. A mother’s love is whole no matter how many times it’s divided.” – Instructor Jam
Truly, Mother’s Day celebration may be as simple as giving a red carnation or as grand as dining out in a fancy restaurant. But it’s not how we celebrate the occasion but it’s the moment shared with our mother to show her how much we love her and appreciate her love and her presence in our lives.
Hope everybody had a Happy Mother’s Day!
